I know people say it varies, and I know it does, but do they GENERALLY get along OK with cats?

I had a gorgeous Sheltie. Lost her after 16 years. She was the best friend you could ever have. Cannot recommend the breed more. Miss my girl so much.

My dog is evil!! When ever you try to teach it something, it takes it as an insult and gets pissed off! Still like it tho!

my mom says shltie and shetland sheepdogs are two diff dogs. is this right?

  • Shakiki says:

Shelties are wonderful & I wouldn’t have it any other way! Shelties seem to recognize other dogs of the same breed even when mixed with other dogs and favor them at least with the dogs I’ve seen! My shelties don’t bark at all (maybe a few times a day) and if they do it’s as an alarm (loud noise), they want out or are excited and playing! No complaints from me! FANTASTIC VIDEOS!

i luv shetland sheepdogs i have a puppy and she is a sheltie and she is about 7 monthes

  • DarkRose357 says:

I reckon it’s really amusing. If you have a pack of shelties, they tend to DESPISE other breeds. They will greet another sheltie, and it may seem they tolerate other dogs, but in actuality, they are using a passive agressive state of mind by ignoring the other breed. Yes, they REALLY do. Question any responsible sheltie breeder. :)

I have a sheltie, a german shepherd, and a pomeranian and they all get along fantastic! Just be sure to spay/neuter your pets (at the proper age of course) and start training when they are young.

Fantastic video…I’m like to get a couple dogs when I get older, maybe one small and one a bit larger. Maybe a sheltie and a german shepherd or something…I need a small dog that will get along excellent with another dog. Looks like shelties will do that just fine.

READ MY STORY!

How to stop barking dogs!

Hey this is John, above is my 2 year old border collie. I built this site to help others who are struggling with dog behavioural problems.

Up to a few months a go Sammy had a few behaviour type problems and barked a lot. To the point where my neighbours were complaining regularly.

I have searched high and low for the answer, I tried out lots of different methods, including remote static and vibration colars, citronella colars and various other products, with no real success.

Well there is a way......

I eventually found my way and Sammy and me have worked through our problems. Sammy no longer barks, we are both much happier and no more complains from my neighbours !!

I wish I new back then what I know now! To find out more about how I did it click here.
