You could get him a shock collar for barking. There price usually ranges from $100-$200 depending on how excellent and long they work. How they work is whenever the dog barks it senses it by movement in the neck and it gives a shock.

    Lots and lots of training.

An anti-barking collar can work too. (they are expensive)

You have to be firm with him. In dog training, you have to show your dog that you are the alpha dog and not him. Mother dogs grab their puppies by the area on their neck. You need to use your hand as if it was a mother dog’s mouth and gently give him a “hand style bite” while at the same time saying firmly,
“NO!” You don’t need to be overly rough, but you need to let your dog know that you are the top dog or alpha dog and not him. The longer he thinks that he is the alpha dog, the more hard it will be to get his respect and train him. Excellent Luck!

Does your dog have any training in basics? If he does, this will be simpler to work with…if he doesn’t, you should start. Not everything works for every dog. There are spray collars, some people use a water bottle to spray them…you can place some coins in a can and shake it while saying NO. What worked for me was teaching my dog how to bark on command…and them teaching him the command to silent. But each method takes some work and time. Excellent luck

Well, I consider the shock collars as a last-resort only. If my suggestions don’t work, then try a shock collar.

    1) Whenever your dog barks, clap your hands or yell “AAH-AAT!” really loud, sort of like a growl.
    2) Spray him with water from a spray bottle any time he barks.
    3) Flick him on the nose.

Not all in order, bytheway. Just try each of them for about two weeks, see what works. If none of those work, try getting a trainer. Go to PetSmart. Their training cost is less than the cost of shock collars, and no doggies are harmed. It’s $109 for an 8-week class. Well, here that’s the cost for beginner classes. Call up your nearest PetSmart for information about costs and stuff.

And if that doesn’t work, I guess try a shock collar, though any trainer will recommend against that.

He might be barking at random people because he is not socialized that well. The best way to stop dog barking is to make sure that your pet is kept active and socialized. You can read about how to stop dog barking here http://helpwithpettraining.com/stop-excessive-dog-barking.php

You really need to know some basic dog training concepts. Some dog breeds bark more than others. If your dog is still young it will be simpler to train, because if he or she has adopted terrible habits and has acted that way for a while, it will be harder. As others have said, an anti-bark collar will probably help, but you need to learn how to enforce excellent behavior in Your dog. There are plenty of sites out their that should be able to help you. Make sure you have a excellent relationship with your dog, and don’t do things that encourage the barking.

How to stop barking dogs!

Hey this is John, above is my 2 year old border collie. I built this site to help others who are struggling with dog behavioural problems.

Up to a few months a go Sammy had a few behaviour type problems and barked a lot. To the point where my neighbours were complaining regularly.

I have searched high and low for the answer, I tried out lots of different methods, including remote static and vibration colars, citronella colars and various other products, with no real success.

Well there is a way......

I eventually found my way and Sammy and me have worked through our problems. Sammy no longer barks, we are both much happier and no more complains from my neighbours !!

I wish I new back then what I know now! To find out more about how I did it click here.
