How do you stop a dog from barking?

We don’t really have a serious barking problem but It can become one because my dog just will not shut up at night. Most the time he sleeps inside in the cage and outside with the family all day. He only barks at night when hes outside.

It may sound mean but being the dominant species will shut the dog up, I have a dog and now I just have to flick my arm in a punching movement and he lies down and realises he is doing incorrect, you have to be strict to be kind.

You can train him when and when not to ‘speak’ :) I find clicker training is the best. Does he bark when someone comes to the door? If he does get a friend or someone you know to knock your front door. Allow him to bark then tell him “Excellent boy, enough” clicker, and give treats/praise. He will soon pick it up! :)

But a dog should not sleep outside unless you have proper kennels and a EXCELLENT reason for keeping him outside. He is most likely lonely!

Let him stay in his crate near where the family sleeps. All he wants is to be near his pack.

This is a serious problem now.I’m sure your neighbors don’t want to hear him.Confine him in the house if you can’t let him loose at night. He shouldn’t be out all night alone anyway. He’s probably trying to tell you he’s lonely.

My neighbors’ dog barks a lot at night and people started calling the cops. It was really annoying. Discipline works, if your dog knows you’re in charge he won’t bark, which lets everyone know he’s in charge. Don’t leave him out at night. Shock collars, citronella collars, muzzles. There are also outdoor bark controllers that look like bird houses that let off a sonic beep that only the dog can hear. I guess it’s unpleasant and the dog will quickly learn that the beep accompanies the bark. There are lots of choices if you are willing to try them. I wish someone would give my neighbors a clue. But really way is your dog out all night? As part of a pack he should be in with you.

Keep him inside the house at night…that solves it,.
I reckon the dog was not trained well..or spoiled rather..dogs should stay outside the house because they serve as a guard.
I usually make a fist at my dog or show him a broom then he shuts up…dogs know what you wanna show them..they feel you sometimes..depends on how you make them know you.

Dogs are social pack animals, being outside and away from the family would be going against their natural instincts to be around their pack. The pack being you and other people living at home.

You could try caging the dog inside the house and see if this helps. If it is an adult dog they should be able to hold it in all night.

You can check out any of the dog training websites out there. Many have content on how to stop dog barking.

My Neighbors And The Dogs From Hell!

We had been having distress for months with our neighbors and their dogs. The dogs will bark all day and all night and it does not seem to bother them.

I have tried everything from cursing at the neighbors to calling the cops but nothing worked and it seemed like the cops felt like they had better things to do.

I finally found a solution to this problem and I could not believe how simple it was. Just go to http://www.antibarkingdevice.com and it will show exactly how to stop your neighbor’s dog from barking.

I just popped their cd into my stereo and blasted the dog with an ultrasonic sound that humans cannot hear. It worked after one day and I was really amazed. Anytime I hear them bark, I give them a taste of the blast just to remind them not to bark. You will like the power of shutting them up!

How to stop barking dogs!

Hey this is John, above is my 2 year old border collie. I built this site to help others who are struggling with dog behavioural problems.

Up to a few months a go Sammy had a few behaviour type problems and barked a lot. To the point where my neighbours were complaining regularly.

I have searched high and low for the answer, I tried out lots of different methods, including remote static and vibration colars, citronella colars and various other products, with no real success.

Well there is a way......

I eventually found my way and Sammy and me have worked through our problems. Sammy no longer barks, we are both much happier and no more complains from my neighbours !!

I wish I new back then what I know now! To find out more about how I did it click here.
